I developed a training manual for new employees!

Person handing a book to another

I collaborated with coworkers to develop the company policies and procedures for the web based team (WBT).  This template can and should be easily applied to other modalities to make the production process more efficient and effective. I believe the document serves as the foundation of the companies curriculum team if managed properly.

In the future, an internal instructional designer could easily transfer the information into an LMS and create learning development courses for the employees.

When I started with this organization,  there was no LMS or literature for transfer of knowledge to new employees. Over a four month period, with collaboration with colleagues and diligent notes, we were able to create policies and procedures for:

  • Development: Graphics and Photos, 508 Accessibility, Voiceover and CC, Knowledge Check slides, Player Controls, Hyperlinks
  • Internal Review: Rapid Review PRocess, REvision Procedure, Review Criteria

Conclusion

I am most proud of the knowledge check template I designed. It is was used across all web-based asynchronous modules.  This database of policies and procedures was developed because I am adamant about making the production process as efficient as possible. It helps me do my job well and the company to integrate new employees into company culture and way of work.
